The Arlo Skye carry-on is well designed, lovely to look at, solid and unique. People in airports stare at it with envy. My husband wants to trade his Tumi in for a silver one. That’s not a small thing. Next stop, the check-in.
I could be called a perfectionist when it comes to packing; I have not checked a bag for at least 15 years (I travel with a roller carry-on and a small backpack). The “Arlo Skye aluminum carry on” has met the challenge and I am very impressed! I traded out my 4- wheel roller (major brand that starts with a T). I just returned from 2 weeks in Australia, and the Arlo met the challenge! It actually had a little more capacity than the T brand, and I had room to spare. It rolls very nice (better than the T brand), and I was on some rough streets. I always place my backpack on the roller handle, and this worked well. Of course, now comes the durability test of time. I travel with some heavy camera equipment, so the weight will be a test. For the Arlo Skye team, the handle raises a question if it can hold up, and for me, the wheels are going to put on many, many miles. I do wish that there were “usable pockets” inside. The existing ones are quite small and not very useful at all. Also, the luggage tag did not meet the challenge.. The charger for me, I did not use. Currently there are so many charging options available (airports, planes, etc) that I do not need one in my bag. I would rather have the extra space. But for now, a “5 star”.
So far, I’ve used the carry-on on two trips and the suitcase has performed flawlessly. Very high-quality build. No complaints at all — in fact, I ordered a few more for presents.
I've taken my Carry-On on a few trips now and I've got to say it is a great piece of luggage. It is extremely high quality, The materials and overall construction are very nice. I've been into luggage stores, and looked at similar pieces from the more well-known brands. To get a similar piece from Tumi or Rimowa would cost you $900 without question. Go with Arlo Skye.
Worked 33 years with a major air line so I only take a carry on. If it doesn't fit in a carry on it doesn't go. So far I have not gone without with my new Arlo Skye. This bag is smooth and convenient, never felt like I was going without.
